In Italy, the cesarian rate is 15.4%, in France 12.6%, and in Germany 10.9%. In contrast, Latin America has much higher rates of cesarian deliveries than Europe. In Brazil, 31% of all births are cesarian while in Mexico the rate stands at 28%. In Asian countries, cesarean rates also vary greatly. India has a rate of 27%, while in China it stands at 24%.
